The Niethammer family has been in the aggregate industry for nearly 50 years. Richard and Nancy Niethammer started the original business, Niethammer Trucking Inc., at their home on Willis Road in Saline and operated in that location for 20 years.
In 1988, Richard and Nancy's son, Robert, and his wife, Gwen, took over operation of the business and moved to the company's present location on Michigan Avenue. A third generation joined the business when Robert and Gwen's daughter, Beth, and their son, Rob, began working in the early 2000s.
Hammer Trucking Inc. was formed in 1995 and operates today as the service company for all material deliveries. The Niethammer Rock Stop is the newest company which handles all material sales whether picked up or delivered.
